La Sucrière: an exceptional venue

La Sucrière is an iconic venue in the Docks in the centre of the Lyon Confluence district. Built in the 1930s, this former warehouse was given a new lease of life in 2003 with the arrival of the Lyon Contemporary Art Biennale, one of the largest in Europe. Completely renovated in 2011, this historic venue demonstrates how it is possible to preserve industrial heritage and give it a new cultural vocation.

The venue hosts around 50 events a year and stages art and cultural exhibitions of national and international renown  all year long on the second floor of the building.

After its premiere at La Sucrière in Lyon, the Imagine Picasso exhibition is going on a world tour.
